How are gold prices calculated?

Gold prices are fetched from market data providers and displayed per gram for 24K, 21K, and 18K. Prices include VAT when applicable and are updated regularly.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes! The calculator works offline using cached prices. You'll see a "Cached" badge when using saved data instead of live prices.

What is the "Shop Gave You a Price?" feature?

Enter a price quoted by a gold shop, and the app will tell you if it's a good deal, fair, or expensive — and suggest negotiation prices.

How does Zakat calculation work?

The app uses the standard Nisab threshold of 85 grams of 24K gold. If your total gold value meets or exceeds Nisab, Zakat is calculated at 2.5%. You can manually enter amounts or pull totals from your Collection.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free includes live prices, basic calculator, 1-month price history, 3 alerts, and 5 collection items. Pro unlocks up to 1-year price history, 30 alerts, unlimited collection items, full negotiation tools, and PDF/CSV export.

How do I restore my Pro subscription?

Go to Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases. Your subscription is linked to your Apple ID or Google account and will be restored automatically.

Troubleshooting

Prices not updating

Check your internet connection. Pull down to refresh. If prices are stale, the app will show a warning banner.

App shows "Offline"

The app requires internet for live prices but can work offline with cached data for calculations.

Push notifications not working

Go to Settings > Notifications > Enable Push Notifications. Also check your device's notification settings for Gold Calculator.
