SnapMemories: Backup & Export ("SnapMemories", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
The short version: SnapMemories is designed with privacy at its core. All your data stays on your device. We don't collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any external servers.

Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information. SnapMemories operates entirely on your device without any connection to external servers.
Data You Provide
When you use SnapMemories, you import your Snapchat data export (a JSON file provided by Snapchat). This data includes:
- Memory URLs (links to download your media from Snapchat's servers)
- Timestamps of when memories were created
- Location data (if available in your Snapchat export)
- Media type indicators (photo or video)
All of this data remains exclusively on your device. We never upload, transmit, or have access to your Snapchat data or downloaded memories.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Location data from your device
- Any content from your memories
How We Use Information
Since we don't collect any information, there's nothing for us to use. All processing happens locally on your device:
- Parsing your Snapchat export to display memories
- Downloading media files directly from Snapchat's servers to your device
- Storing downloaded media in the app's secure local storage
- Exporting memories to your Photos app (when you choose to)
Third-Party Services
Snapchat

Apple (In-App Purchases)
If you purchase SnapMemories Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store any payment information. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Apple's Privacy Policy
No Analytics or Tracking SDKs
SnapMemories does not include any analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs. We do not use Firebase, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, or any similar services.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored locally on your device:
- Imported memory metadata is stored in the app's Core Data database
- Downloaded media files are stored in the app's private document directory
- Pro purchase status is stored in UserDefaults
This data is protected by iOS's built-in security measures and is not accessible to other apps. When you delete the app, all associated data is automatically removed from your device.
Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over retention:
- Delete individual memories within the app
- Delete the app to remove all data
- Your data is never retained by us because we never receive it
Your Rights
Because we don't collect or store your personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) don't apply in the conventional sense. However, you always have full control over your data on your device:
- Access: All your data is visible within the app
- Deletion: Delete any memory or the entire app at any time
- Portability: Export your memories to your Photos app
Children's Privacy
SnapMemories is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we don't collect any user data, there is no risk of inadvertently collecting children's data.
International Users
SnapMemories processes all data locally on your device regardless of where you are located. No data is transferred internationally because no data leaves your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
